Birds, dog, snow and magic

Today is my cousin Dionne Jiejie's birthday. Daddy and mummy brought me to her house for the birthday party. I don't know anyone there except my grandparents, Caleb korkor, my uncles and aunties. All the other big korkor and jiejie, I don't know who they are. Anyhow, its not important. People know me can already. haha

Aunty J invited a man in funny costume to come to the house. He is also known as the Magic Prince.
He does magic. Then he made 2 birds appear in the house. First time seeing birds at such close distance. Then there were other magic and some "snow" that appeared. At the end of it, this magician gave me a shock. He shot a "gun" that made such a loud noise that made me cry. He apologised by giving me a balloon dog.

Maybe next time mummy will invite this man to my birthday party too.

Happy Birthday Dionne Jiejie.

Letter from Mummy

Dear Baby
Its been 9 months. I still remember last year during this time, we were still anticipating your arrival and you were still contorting within. Putting you at my chest now, you seem to be as tall as my torso measures. How fast you have grown and I am just amazed at the speed you are growing.

At times, I wish you would stay put at where you are and stop growing so quickly but at the same time, I wish you would grow up quickly so you could enjoy the fullness of your life. However, I believe God has His own timing in your life and all that you are going through, your milestones are all in His time.

Although you still do not like to eat sometimes and seem to be quite picky on the type of food that you eat, I'm still glad that you are growing well. Though not in the 75th or 90th percentile, as long as you are not underweight and gowing well, its alright. As long as when you reach 1, you will be able to wean off abit of your milk, it would be fine. You seem to be like a non-Chinese baby whereby you prefer cereals and jar food to porridge. Maybe you are like Mummy, self claimed "ang moh lang". Or maybe because both Daddy and Mummy do not like to eat porridge that's why you have the same reaction to it. I just hope that what I am giving you is enough for your growth nutritionally.

My prayer for you as you turn 9 months, that you would grow healthy, continue to explore the things around you as much as possible and realise what you are able to do as a human being. Most importantly that you will one day come to know who Jesus is. Stay cheerful and beautiful my baby. :)

Love,
Mummy

I am 9 months old!!!

Today I turn 9 months. :) Mummy brought me to see the doctor aunty to get a "present". My 2nd Pneumococcal jab. And it hurts. :( But good thing is I don't have to have anymore pain pain until I turn 1 year old. So much for the doctor aunty. *bye bye*

So what are my stats?
Weight: 7.7kg
Length: 70cm
Mummy says I am still in the 25th percentile. Doctor aunty says cos I am an active girl and I will not be expected to be like those big sized, round bodied babies. :)

What can I do?
- crawl everywhere
- pick up food with my fingers but I just love to play with them, i.e. not putting them into the mouth
- stand supported
- push myself to a standing position. I still cannot pull myself up.
- throw things that I am bored of
- make one big bubble with my saliva
- eating more cereal and starting my porridge
- wave byebye
- give high fives
- scream very loudly
- sleep on my own after abit of crying and grumbling. :)

Sleep Training -- Day 4

I took 15mins to fall asleep. Even though I woke up in the middle of the night to cry abit, I still managed to get back to sleep on my own.

Daddy is so proud of me. :)

Sleep training -- Day 3

I took half an hour again to get to sleep.

Once mummy finishes the bedtime story and starts to shower me with cuddles and kisses, I see the bed as my enemy. :p

Not sure why, I woke up in the middle of the night and the cycle to make me get back to sleep starts all over again. Another half an hour at 1 something in the morning. Sigh

Daddy and Mummy didn't respond to me calling them and they only came in for a short while.

Hope that next few nights will be easier.

Sleep Training -- Day 2

Mummy and Daddy says (more like the magazine that they read says) this will be over in 3 days max. Day 2 of training. Maybe I was tired and I cried less. Only took me half an hour to get to sleep.

Mummy is so proud of me. :)

Sleep Training -- Day 1

Daddy and mummy is putting me on training to sleep on my own. They use this method where I will have to cry *sobs*.

Today, after reading me my bedtime story, they put me into the cot. It took me 1hr to get to sleep. I cried the whole time.

I managed to sleep through the night only waking up once in the middle of the night compared to the previous night. :)

More tomorrow.

Bye bye...

Today is the last session of my music and movement class in Kampong Playhouse. So fast 4 lessons has whizzed by. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and at the same time, I helped mummy build some muscles. :) Not sure if mummy is going to sign me up for more classes. She didn't really talk to the teachers much so I don't think I'll have a chance for any class anymore. Maybe when I am slightly older.

Here's some pictures of what I have been doing.

I learnt some new songs too. "Hello Song", "Muddle Frog", "Everybody loves Baby", "Yankee Doodle", "Piggy Jig", "Rig-A-Jig-Jig" and some others that I cannot remember. Also I got to play with wood instruments, egg shakers, rain maker, drums, parachute, etc.

Have a look at how pro I am with those egg shakers and me trying to play with the parachute.

Itwas quite a fun experience. :) Will look forward to more of these classes. :p

I can stand

Today, I managed to stand up while supporting myself on the chair at grandma's house. Too bad daddy and mummy weren't there to see that moment. However, I showed them what I could do by the table when they came. I'm so proud of myself and I'm sure daddy and mummy are too.

One more milestone in my life. :)
