City Shopping

6 April
Its the last day in Bunbury and time to say goodbye to my "bathtub". I'm going up to the city today! Its also getting warmer as the days go by.

The morning was spent driving up to Perth city. We were there just in time for lunch. Mummy tried to feed me lunch at the hotel rest area. But I didn't want want eat and I got scolding and started crying until the aunty from the reception area came by to see what was happening. Mummy was mad at me and she didn't want to talk to me. :( After waiting for a while and lunchless, the aunty came by again and said that we could collect our keys and go into our room to rest. We were staying at City Stay Apartments. Here's how the place looks like roughly.

After apologising to mummy, we went out shopping. There's a shopping center opposite where we were, Harbour Town Perth, and daddy and mummy had their lunch there. Kebabs. Mummy then suggested that we go down to the city with the free City Cat service that runs through the CBD area.

I had my milk in the Myers nursing room, which was very big!! Singapore should have rooms like this. Lots of space, lots of changing area, lots of sofas. After the milk, we continued shopping and I fell asleep after a while. Daddy and mummy passed by a Miss Maud's Pastry House and mummy ordered her haven't-eaten-for-a-long-time-delicious mudcake.

I woke up only when Daddy was trying to take pictures with a statue in at St Martin's Centre.

After that we continued walking and finally took the City Cat back to the apartment.

For dinner, we met up with Uncle Ryan, Aunty Casey and Adrielle Jiejie. We had Chinese, Wong's Asian Cuisine, for dinner at the restaurant next to the apartment.

The sun, the sand and the sea

5 April
Today, its planned that we are going to see dolphins. So after the milk and wash up and everything, we headed to the Dolphin Discovery Center. Daddy had a voucher which allows half price on the tickets. So in total, for two adults, A$8.

One thing though, its not confirmed that we will be able to see the dolphins as they are wild dolphins and there isn't a fixed time that they come. So in the end, just as you would have guessed, there weren't any dolphins that came in that day. And daddy realised that we needn't pay the entry fee at all too if we were smart enough cos the beach and the dolphin interaction area is open to public. So the fee was more to just go into the interpretive center to understand more about dolphins which we didn't do much of it.

In the end, I just enjoyed the sand and the water. It was my first time having my feet covered with sand and first time encountering sea water on my feet. I like.

After playing, the dolphins still didn't come and so daddy and mummy decided to forget about the dolphins and just go for see stuff that are around Bunbury. We went to the Bunbury Lighthouse and Marlston Hill Rotary Lookout Tower.

Bunbury Lighthouse
At the end of the beach is the Bunbury Lighthouse with the checkered lighthouse which dates from 1959 on top of the more recent section which was built in 1971. Look carefully and you can see a join about 10 m from the ground. The original lighthouse has been attached to the present one. The light is now 25 m above the ground and can be seen 27 km out to sea.

Marlston Hill Rotary Lookout Tower
Further along the headland is the Marlston Hill Rotary Lookout Tower, a Bicentennial project, which offers an excellent view of Bunbury harbour and the breakwater.

Before lunch, we visited Taffys. Mummy bought a packet of candies made from salt water. For lunch, I had my first adult meal, FISH & CHIPS. Daddy (#5) and mummy had theirs too.

I didn't eat much so mummy let me go hungry which I wasn't at all. :p After lunch, I slept and just as daddy and mummy was deciding what to do, they started driving to Donnybrook while I was asleep to visit a orchard.

When I was awake, I found myself in Donnybrook, the place where Granny Smith apples originated from.

We went to The Old Goldfields Orchard & Cider Factory to see some apples, plums and pears growing from the trees.

After the orchard, we headed back to the motel and Mummy decided to cook. We headed to the supermarket and bought some ingredients and a packet of instant rice (which mummy says it doesn't break down no matter how long you boil it) and we had "home cooked" food that night.

After dinner, daddy brought me for a swim in the bathtub. It was so fun!!! I like.

The unplanned cave

4 April
Today we leave Yallingup and start to head north to Bunbury. Just a couple of meters away from our Yallingup apartment, there's this tourist attraction Ngilgi Caves.

Mummy suggested we just go take some pictures and see how the information area looks like. upon reaching there, she found out that there's a semi guided tour that was about to start at 10am. After much consideration, daddy and mummy decided to go caving.

It was the best workout mummy had after a very long time. The amount of steps that were in the cave and the humidity and the ups and downs, mummy said it felt like a total body workout cum suana.

After the caves, daddy started to drive up North to Bunbury. Time to nap. When I woke up I found myself in this park called the Big Swamp Wildlife Park. Had my lunch there and after that, we started to walk around the park. There were birds, kangaroos, birds, ducks, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, birds and two huge emus.

A bird attacked me while mummy and daddy were trying to feed the other birds. It first invaded my stroller and then its claw got on my knee. Mummy shoo-ed it away. :p

After the park, we checked into our new apartment, Bunbury Motel & Serviced Apartments. The place is soooo nice. I think its the best of the few apartments that we have stayed in. They have a spa tub in the bathroom!!! Finially I can take a decent bath.

Rested in the apartment and headed to the CBD area to get take out. Mummy and Daddy had take out from Buck's Diner, where they had some steak sandwich (Finally a day without fish & chips for daddy).

I love playgrounds!!!

3 April
There are many birds in Australia. I love to terrorise them and watch them watch me. :p

The venue, Busselton Jetty. With the sky in clear blue and the wind blowing, it was a great day to get out there to see some corals and underwater life. But when we reached there, we only got to know that the jetty is CLOSED!! Not just for a day but for one entire year. Such a shame.

In the end, its time for me to play in the playground nearby. :)

With all the hyperness at the playground, I dedcided to sleep than to eat my lunch and in the end, I had late lunch. Daddy drove to Dunsborough and I had my lunch there. Daddy had fish & chips (#4), mummy had Shrimp Burger.
