That heart sinking feeling. I think thats what most mothers will feel when their kids fall ill. Especially much so when ftwm and ptwm collect their kids from their care givers and they be informed that their child fell ill during the day. Or when mothers wake up finding their child with some virus attacking their kids overnight.
Its always like a boulder was planted right into my heart whenever my kids fall ill. When that happens, it will just be an undescribable feeling that runs through my mind and body. The I-rather-be-the-one-to-be-ill mentality comes on and frustration with the bug that is attacking my child.
It sorts of sums up what happened when Natalie started to have some flu like symptoms past few days and the rivers started flowing off from the nose today. Worse, it had to be a day when i needed to put her at my babysitter. That heavy boulder in the heart feeling.
However come to think of it, if i were to be the caregiver for today, i would just be so frustrated cos she is one who is quite anal about mucus in her nose. Every now and then, she would whine about the mucus, wanting to get it out of her nose when there is just a small little droplet. If she cant get it out, she would cry, which will make things worse. Then i would be screaming at her for being so particular and for whining and for crying and the vicious cycle continues.
However, i want to choose to believe that my God will heal her and hopefully within a couple of days, she will be all well. Still yet to decide if i should bring her to the doctor though. I hope i dont have to.
When kids fall ill. That heart sinking feeling.
